ThoughtSpot passes $4bn valuation after $100m Series F funding

ThoughtSpot, a cloud data analytics start-up, has raised $100 million (£74m) in Series F funding to reach a new valuation of $4.2 billion (£3.1bn).

This latest valuation is more than double the company’s previous valuation of $1.95 billion (£1.45bn) two years ago after its Series E round. In the years between, ThoughtSpot underwent a major transformation into a cloud-first company which, evidently, shows to have paid off.

IBM transformation report establishes the dominance of hybrid cloud

IBM has found that only 3 percent of businesses still use a single private or public cloud in 2021, a drastic decrease from 29 percent in 2019.

Such a shift marks the emergence of hybrid cloud models as the dominant IT architecture in cloud transformation.

France unveils €1.8 billion fund for nation’s cloud sector

France has announced a €1.8 billion (£1.53bn) support plan for the nation’s cloud computing sector to keep the country competitive on a global scale.

The plan is divided into a €667 million care package for public financing, a €444 million boost to European Union financing, and a €680 million stimulus for private co-financing.

Microsoft quarterly sales surge thanks to Azure cloud growth

Microsoft cloud quarterly sales have surpassed estimates to reach $20.7 billion (£15bn), making up almost half of the company’s $45.3 billion (£32.9bn) in total revenue from July to October.
